April
April is the Room Revenue Manager (aka number-cruncher) for the Silver Dart Lodge and MacNeil House Suites. She’s an avid cat-person who keeps a lint brush everywhere she goes. While balancing spreadsheets and selling lots of rooms excites her, what she really loves is cooking a fabulous dinner. April’s idea of the perfect meal includes fresh bruschetta with herbs form her garden on home-made multigrain bread, fresh Trout from the Margaree River pan-fried to perfection with baby red potaoes roasted with fresh oregano, rosemary and lemon juice, and panna-cotta with raspberry sauce if she can find wild raspberries. She follows a number of foodie bloggers and aspires to one day start a food blog of her own.
Amanda
Amanda is a Guest Service Representative for the Silver Dart Lodge and Mac Neil House Suites. When Amanda is not in Baddeck meeting and greeting folks from all around the world she is spending time with her two adorable children. She is an avid amatuer photographer and a good sunset will not go unnoticed when Amanda has her camera around her neck!
Chad
Chad is one of our Guest Service Reps. He spends most of his time scouring the wilds of Cape Breton in search of climbable rock, waterfalls that freeze in the winter, and living simply off of the grid.
Debbie
Debbie moved to Margaree when she was 3, from Montreal, Quebec. Her family’s roots were always in the Margaree’s . She spends most of her days at the Beautiful Silver Dart Lodge in Baddeck, Cape Breton. She is a Guest Service Representative and loves every minute of it! When she is not at the Front Desk, answering phones, taking reservations, assisting guests with their journey around the BEAUTIFUL Cabot Trail she can be found playing barbies with her beautiful 7 year old daughter or playing trucks with her handsome 5 year old little man. Her family enjoys going to the Margaree river for a swim in the summer. She also enjoys going to the beach, camping and hikes in the summer. And in the winter she likes to ‘hibernate’ so to speak. But making snowmen, coasting and snuggling up on the couch to watch a cartoon with my kids is a great way to spend a winter day.
Hilda
Well, when she is not working at the Front desk convincing the World that the Cabot Trail is the “ONLY World” she is running to soccer, volleyball, basket-ball, or cheer-leading with her youngest daughter. But her desire in life is to have the world know the Cabot Trail through her eyes. Why not go to Chimney Corner. Go to the end of the beach, climb over the huge rocks and maybe find that cave you never knew was there. Go through the cave to see what is on the other side. She will explain it to you but you must see for yourself. She knows there is a world outside of the Cabot Trail but wants you to know there is not one as beautiful, majestic, serene or peaceful as it. Stop at the Silver Dart and she will guide you on many tours that you would never know unless you have the conversation!! Oh the adventures to share!!
Willena
Willena is the newest member of our gang here at the Silver Dart. She and her Smokey-The-Bear wildlife and forest-technician husband can often be found gallivanting through the wonders of the Cape Breton Highlands with their two bear-cubs in tow scouting out the local moose, bear, beavers, or whatever animals happen along while they are camping, fishing, small game hunting, or just trekking through the trails to Egypt Falls or Cape Clear – whatever the day may bring. When she’s not busy cooking or baking for her family, friends and community she is totally devoted to, and continuously at the heels of her two cubs. As a ‘Hockey Mom’,,, soccer, volleyball, track & field, badminton, softball, and every other even imaginable AND the community ’Knit-wit’. She can most often be found with yarn and needles in hand whipping up warmth to wile away the hours at all those practices and games. Her aspiration is to one day win the 6-49 and build a castle in the highlands so her husband can be the ‘King of Cape Breton”
